Wedding Favors

By Emily Capdeviellewedding-centerpiece

In the midst of booking the DJ, photographer, venue, trying on wedding gowns, organizing your wedding party and all of the vital details that come into wedding planning, you can’t forget the more minor details like the wedding favors for your guests! While the wedding favors are not something to fret over, they will still take up part of the budget and you might as well make it count! Because lets face it, who is actually going to use that one votive candle that has your monogrammed initials on it? The following ideas are ways to really make your wedding favors count and won’t have your guests leaving them on the table or worse, in a trash bin.

Personalized treat bags- You can really get creative with personalized treats for your guests. You can do anything from M&Ms that have a photo of you and your fiancé to an assortment of decorated cookies that your guests can either enjoy during the reception or bring home with them.  Personalizing your own M&Ms are as easy as logging onto the website and deciding on what you would like the M&Ms to say or what photo to put on each one. You can fill little bags with a mixture of the personalized M&Ms, tie them with a bow and add a tag that has a photo of you and your fiancée for a finishing touch.

If you’d rather try your hand at baking some cookies or other treats for your guests, this is another delicious option that I’m sure won’t go to waste. You can make your favorite treats for your guests to enjoy and can even create your own cookie recipe to add a personal touch to them. Time to gather the bridal party into the kitchen and start your baking extravaganza!

Personalized wine bottles- Depending on your interests, another great option would be to create a personalized wine bottle that is filled with your favorite bubbly. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can also attempt to make your own wine! Some local wineries may give you the option to make your wine there or there are kits to make wine in your own home. You can choose unique bottles for the wine and also create your own labels with a personalized photo or your monogrammed initials. Or, you can always brew your own beer if you and your fiancée aren’t winos. Beer brewing kits are also available through various websites and select retail stores.

Make a donation- Making a donation to a charity in the name of each of your guests is another possible idea. If you think about the total number of guests that will be attending your wedding and the amount you are willing to spend per person, it could end up being quite a contribution to a charity or association that is near and dear to you and your fiancée’s heart. Once you decide on a particular charity, you can opt to print out the donation announcement on similar cardstock that you used for the wedding invitations or save the dates to tie the theme together.

Depending on how much time your have and your budget, you may decide to do a combination of things for your wedding favors.  There are many ideas to explore, as these are just a few that might be the perfect fit for your special day. The key is to make sure you’re not wasting your time and money and to take advantage of this opportunity to get creative! Check out our centerpieces board on Pinterest for more fun ideas!
